The exhibit exists, in part, because of the leadership of our president David Riedman, who is the Zoo’s President of the Board of Trustees and Capital Campaign Chair.

David and the Riedman Foundation have been proud participants in making the exhibit a reality. He has been involved with the Zoo for over 10 years, and has been one of the many who has helped to guide the Zoo through the construction and fundraising efforts of this project. David is especially proud to have helped bring lions back to the Zoo after almost 20 years. Seneca Park Zoo has been the birthplace of 22 lions, and looks forward to being the birthplace of many more! We’d love for you to visit Seneca Park Zoo’s Facebook page to learn more about A Step Into Africa. Then, take a trip to the Zoo to see the new exhibit in person! Seneca Park Zoo is the 15-acre zoo located in Rochester. The new exhibit, A Step Into Africa, is modeled after the Ngorongoro Crater in Tanzania. In addition to the featured lions, this unique exhibit includes a double-decker Safari Bus, a Maasai Hut Village, a simulated archeological Dig Zone and more.
