Construction May Start In Spring on ‘The Hammocks’

The first construction phase of “The Hammocks,” an upscale townhouse-type development, received final site plan approvals from the Town of Geneseo Planning Board on Monday. The units will be built by Riedman Associates on property at Lima and Volunteer roads owned by Premium Development.

Among the 90 first phase units will be apartments with one, two and three bedrooms. All are two-story with individual garages. Occupants will share the use of a separate clubhouse. The units will be rented rather than privately owned by occupants, but will otherwise have the feel of ta townhouse complex.

Phase One has nine buildings, with 10 units per building. When the project is complete there will be 160 units in 16 buildings.

Upscale Housing Development Moves Forward in the Town of Canandaigua

According to Riedman, The Hammocks clubhouse is scheduled to be completed April 15. The first residential building should be complete shortly after, May 1, he added. Despite the ongoing construction, apartments at The Hammocks are currently for lease.

The first phase of the construction — which is currently underway — includes the construction of four apartment buildings, along with the clubhouse. The additional buildings that make up phase one will be finished throughout the remainder of 2013, Riedman said. The second phase is to build the remaining four apartment buildings. Construction for this next stage will begin in the summer.

Bringing The Hammocks to Canandaigua will be a positive for the town, said councilmember Pam Helming. “…It will be an asset to the town.”

The Hammocks Makes Its First Move Out-of-State

In its first move outside of New York State, Riedman Development Corporation announced that it will be starting the newest Hammocks community just outside of Erie, PA. The Hammocks at Millcreek wil be the fifth Hammocks location in the Northeast, boasting a location with views of beautiful Lake Erie and within minutes of an abundance of shopping, dining, healthcare, entertainment, and cultural experiences for all ages.

The Hammocks at Millcreek will feature 9 four-story buildings, each with 30 apartments ranging from one bedroom to three bedrooms, with a total of 270 apartments on the property. Each building will feature 8 garages available for rent and an elevator for resident use.

The community offers a clubhouse for use by its residents 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, which features a business center, fitness center, full kitchen, great room, theatre room, showers and restrooms and a heated swimming pool with an outdoor fire pit.

Construction is expected to start in the Spring of 2013 with late 2013 occupancy.

Riedman Development & Wegman Companies Announce Plans to Work Together on Villas at Canandaigua

The two well-known companies have been collaborating for the last 15 years, and look forward to adding the Villas at Canandaigua to the list. While Wegman Companies will continue to handle the sales and marketing portion of the project, Riedman Development will be handing the construction and design for Phase Two of The Villas. Phase Two includes 132 units, with premium lots overlooking water features.

There are several advantages to Riedman Development managing the construction and design at The Villas, among them the economies of scale and consolidated resources offered by Riedman’s @home Builders division. This will enable both companies to manage the project more economically and efficiently.

The Villas at Canandaigua, one-story ranch-style townhomes, feature great rooms with cathedral ceilings, gorgeous eat-in kitchens with wood cabinets, a breakfast bar and pantry, and huge master suites with private bath and walk-in closets.
